Cheap, easy haunted house props - Spooky trees and other scenery

Whatever the theme of your Halloween haunted house, scenery forms the background for all your other props. Turning a normal everyday room into one that makes you scream for Mommy can be done cheaply and easily. Still, it takes a little know how to get the job done.
Twisted spooky trees lend a realistic touch to your cemetery. Dark as night walls are a convincing background for a lightening storm. Scenery plays a major part in the illusion that brings your Halloween haunted house props to life. Here's how to create convincing cheap and easy scenery for your Halloween haunted house.
Backgrounds and backdrops

When constructing a haunted house, you want to convert normal living areas into spooky spaces. Sometimes it's necessary to use backgrounds and backdrops to disguise the true identity of a room. Old sheets and blankets make wonderful backdrops and backgrounds. The sheets can even be dyed black or painted with spooky scenes. These Halloween props truly set the stage for the rest of your scenery.

Trees

You can re-purpose artificial trees as Halloween haunted house props. You can even create cheap and easy spooky Halloween trees by wrapping floor lamps or artificial Christmas trees in crinkled brown craft paper. Spooky trees can be cut out of black construction paper and taped on walls in a pinch. You can also paint them on those backdrop sheets.

Paths

Replicate a lonely, winding path as scenery. Guests will be guided through a darkened forest setting or cemetery by cheap cut out paper stones glued to the floor. You can also use discounted fabric to create a Halloween haunted house path. Choose one with a dirt like color or stone look. That crinkled butcher paper works cheaply and easily too. For realism, Place small rocks or stones as borders.

Entries and room themes

The entryways to different rooms in your haunted house can be part of the spooky scenery too. For instance, your spooky operating room might have doors decorated like a real Hospital operating room. This can be done with cheap butcher paper painted for realism and taped to the door. Don't forget the main entry and exit either. The former is the best spot for that "Enter if you Dare" sign. The latter might feature a skeleton with glowing eyes, showing guests the way out and warning them never to return.
